Terms of Service
Effective September 3, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Run Your Trades software and services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, you agree on its behalf and represent that you are authorized to do so.
The Service
Run Your Trades provides operations software for skilled-trades businesses, including quoting, scheduling, invoicing, purchasing, permit assistance, job costing, and an optional integration with QuickBooks Online. Some features are automated or AI-assisted (see below). We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate account information and are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. The Service is intended for business use by people 18 or older, not for consumers.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service - including by attempting to breach its security, access data that isn’t yours, disrupt it, reverse engineer it, or use it to violate the law or the rights of others.
Your content
You retain ownership of the data and content you put into the Service (your jobs, customers, invoices, files, photos, and so on). You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, and display that content in order to provide the Service to you.
Customer data and photos
Much of what you enter - the names, addresses, contact details, and property photos of the customers you serve - is personal information about other people. As between you and us, you are responsible for that information. You represent and warrant that you have the right, and have given any notice or obtained any consent required by law, to collect it, to upload photos of job sites and property (including anything or anyone visible in them), and to have us process it on your behalf. We act as your service provider and process this information only to provide the Service to you; you are responsible for how you collect and use it and for complying with the laws that apply to your business.
Automated and AI-assisted features
Features such as photo analysis, supply-list generation, permit research, quote and pricing suggestions, and scheduling estimates are automated aids. They can be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date, and they are not professional, engineering, code, safety, tax, or permitting advice. You must review and independently verify their output before relying on it, and you remain solely responsible for your quotes, prices, materials, filings, schedules, and the work you perform.
Permits
Permit information the Service surfaces is assistance only. Permit requirements, fees, forms, and processes vary by jurisdiction and change over time. You are responsible for confirming what a given job requires directly with the authority having jurisdiction (the “AHJ”) and for obtaining and complying with all required permits and inspections.
QuickBooks and other third-party services
If you connect QuickBooks Online or other third-party services, your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and you authorize us to exchange data with them as needed to provide the features you enable. We are not responsible for third-party services. Data handling is described in our Privacy Policy.
No professional advice
The Service is a tool. It does not provide tax, legal, accounting, engineering, or other professional advice, and it does not calculate sales tax or move funds - those are handled by QuickBooks or your own processes. You are responsible for the accuracy of your quotes, invoices, tax, and filings, and should consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
Not a party to your work
Run Your Trades is a software provider only. It is not a contractor, engineer, or licensed tradesperson, and it does not perform, supervise, inspect, or guarantee any of the field work you carry out. All decisions about scope, pricing, materials, safety, code compliance, and workmanship are yours, and all trade work is performed by you and your business, not by us.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law - including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any output will be accurate or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Run Your Trades will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $100.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Run Your Trades and its owners, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to: your use of the Service; the content, data, and photos you submit; the work you quote or perform; your dealings with your own customers; or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated or as needed to protect the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive - including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification - will survive.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date, and continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before bringing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at the address below and try in good faith to resolve it informally for at least 30 days. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
